Day 51 & 52 | Whanganui

My family laughed at me when I told them about the road. Apparantly I took a back road no one ever takes, only when the main roads are closed. The road I took was NOT a highway, that’s why it was covered in sheep. So I took the scenic route on Friday and it was a huge relief driving back on the áctual highway today.

Saturdaymorning Phyl showed me around Whanganui, we started with a travel in the car around Whanganui, followed by visiting the local market, onto Art Galleries, a drive to Kai Iwi Beach and a drive around Bason Gardens. (It is really late here, I’m tired so I’m basically writing you guys a quick summary)

We did all this before Paul, Bridgette, Anna and Pepsi arrived; we then went out for dinner with Thymen, daughter of Paul’s sister (complicated, aye?). After dinner we went for an egg hunt, because Bridgette insisted I’d try ‘Marshmellow Eggs’ (chocolate eggs filled with marshmellow). We went past several supermarkets until Bridgette found one where they weren’t sold out. I tried them and I thought they were… Interesting.

Today I drove back on the proper highway together with Finja! We went for a lovely dinner at Lakehouse in town and enjoyed live music. Now I’m ready to go to bed, tomorrow will be a busy day!
