Day 44 & 45 | Turangawaewaeregatta & Balloons over Waikato

This weekend was exciting. Went to the Turangawaewaeregatta; it’s a seasonal event with regional rowing competitions where most North Island rowing clubs and schools get together to race. I went there with Jean, Dave, Felix and Atticus. It was awesome. Also saw Audrey there again!

Then we went home and had dinner. After that Jean dropped me of at the University of Waikato, where the Balloons of Waikato were. Sadly they didn’t go in the air because of the weather. They compensated with a fireshow and fireworks; they were absolutely stunning.

Then today, Sunday, I went to the Hamilton Gardens. Took loads of pictures. Will show you a few! They had all sorts of special gardens, modern, renaissance, Alice in Wonderland inspired and they have been planning many more to come.

The smell of the Italian Garden brought me back to when I was around 8 years old and went to Italy with Meike, Ger and Rino.

So that was the overload of pictures for today! I drove back to Taupo in the sporadic weather changing from storm to sun again and again. Now it’s time for sleep! Night, night!
